Here is information from a private school. I would like to know how much of a tax receipt families get when they enroll their children. Private schools in the Comox Valley started in 2008 with 75 students and if no changes are made from funds they receive from the BC Ministry of Education they expect to grow to 726 students according to published documentation. Go to their Home page.
“Tuition Tax Benefit A portion of tuition from January to December may be classified as a charitable donation and used as a deduction on your personal income tax return. The amount of a donation receipt depends on how much tuition a family pays, how many children in each family attend Gaglardi Academy, how many months the children attend during a calendar year (January to June and September to December), and a “cost per student” factor calculated yearly. Tax receipts are issued at the end of February each year and are available for pickup from the school office. If you have any questions, please contact the office.”
