Elementary and secondary education

Canada has public education. Parents should not be charged or have to fundraise to send their children to school. It is to our benefit that everyone has equal access to education because you never know when someone will rise and become a shining star. Calgary parents payed $31.440 million in 2014-15 year, the BC Supreme Court has ruled BC school districts cannot charge students for any materials or equipment required to finish a course leading to graduation and Vancouver parents fundraised $3.4 million in 2012-13,  and the Nanaimo-Ladysmith Schools Foundation planned to raise $550,000 for the 2015-16 school year. It is up to parents to choose the type of schooling for their children. Parents can choose to send their children to free public schools or pay to send them to private schools.
