Many parents and community members have encouraged Inglis to go beyond tutoring, and we are now entertaining the idea of expanding our facility to support a small private school (maximum of 72 students) in the City of Courtenay.

Inglis Academy will utilize the Courtenay Recreation Centre, directly across the street, for purposes such as physical education (both indoor and outdoor), Home Economics, recess and lunch break, and other workshops and functions that will take place throughout the school year. The Rec Centre is certainly advantageous to the students’ physical wellness and will also provide optimal opportunities for extracurricular activities instructed by experts within our ultra-dynamic community.

Inglis Academy will guarantee small class sizes of no more than 12 students to ensure that optimal instruction and learning is taking place each day.

Curriculum focus: Inglis Academy’s mission is to focus on all areas of the B.C. curriculum; however, there will be a stronger emphasis on the essential academics, such as: mathematics, sciences, literacy/humanities and French.

Hours of Operation: Inglis Academy will run 8:30-2:30 Monday through Friday(excluding statutory holidays). Spring, Christmas and summer break will be scheduled in accordance to the School District’s calendar.

Staffing: Throughout the past 6 years of operating Inglis, staffing skilled and passionate teachers has always been of great importance. Our facility is, and will continue to be, a place where children can feel safe to take risks and go beyond their comfort zone.

Rates: Annual rates will be approximately $9000-$10 000 for the school year. Provincial funding will likely lower this fee. Please be advised that this is a ball park estimate.
