Experts say that moving is one of the most stressful things a person can go through in one’s life. I cannot imagine how stressful it would be to give up on a way of life. I feel their current situation can’t be good either way but I am sure there are more things affecting this family’s plight than not just being able to get food. First and foremost I think rather than criticize, we should look at how we could help them because I’m sure we all have a role to play. Recently my car broke down and I had to take the bus. Its been awhile since I had taken a bus and definitely not in my local community. I came away wanting to challenge every politician to take a bus for a week to see what they might learn. When was the last time you took a bus? If you haven’t taken a bus in your local community, take a couple of days and try it out. Put yourself in the shoes of someone less fortunate than yourself and see if the bus system works for you or how you think it should be improved. Chances are you might have some good ideas. The more people that do this, the more people we will help especially when we start caring about what our policians are doing with our money. My point is, our politicians spend our tax dollars like its their own money. Politicians work for us and if our money isn’t being spent wisely there is something wrong with that. Perhaps new policies need to be reviewed one year after implementation to see if there are ways they could be improved upon. I don’t have the perfect answer or answers but we have to start looking outside the box in order to help those less fortunate than ourselves. The best way I know how is to learn first hand what some of the issues are. Click here to read more about this family.
