Levers Pacific Plantations Pty. Ltd. operated the Yandina port, which had a fifty-four-metre wharf frontage six metres deep.
There were 407 registered schools: six government schools, seven Local Council schools, one Chinese school, eighty Anglican Diocese of Melanesia schools, fifty-six Catholic schools, ninety-one Adventist schools, ninety-one Methodist schools, fifty-four SSEM schools, one Christian Fellowships school, and the company-run Yandina School.
